The Comedia of the Supreme Poet begins among the punishments of sins and the blessings of virtues. Accompany Dante and Virgil on their journey through the Circles of Hell until they emerge... to see the stars again. Dante Alighieri: Comedìa - Inferno™ is a competitive game by Federico Latini for 3-6 players aged 10 and up, produced by Sir Chester Cobblepot in collaboration with the Municipality of Gradara, Gradara Innova, Regione Marche, and Francesca 2021, chosen for the official Dante 2021 celebrations.
THE DANTEAN POEM
Known especially as The Divine Comedy, Dante Alighieri's poem is written in chained tercets of hendecasyllabic verses, in the Florentine vernacular. The poem is divided into three canticas (Inferno, Purgatory, and Paradise), each composed of 33 cantos, in which an imaginary journey through the three otherworldly realms is narrated.
COMPONENTS
Rulebook in Italian and English, 6 die-cut cardboard tokens – Dante, Virgil, She-wolf, Lion, Leopard, Paolo and Francesca – and 110 cards: 66 Encounters numbered from 1 to 11, 24 Characters, 13 Circles and 7 Virtues that implement optional rules suitable for expert players, all illustrated with the iconic engravings of Gustave Doré brought back to life thanks to the evocative colors of Demis Savini.
GAME OBJECTIVE
With an original spiral draft mechanic, you must collect the highest number of Encounters of different values, trying to avoid duplicates, in order to convert their value into Victory points at the end of the game. With the Characters, you control the tokens but, at the end of the game, having supremacy penalizes you in tiebreakers for victory.
NERD PLAY AWARD 2015
The game idea won the Nerd Play Award 2015, organized by Lega Nerd in collaboration with Play, Festival del Gioco di Modena, supported by Sir Chester Cobblepot. Nerd Play Award is a competition open to authors who present board game ideas in the form of rules.
SPECIAL LIMITED EDITION
Produced in the limited number of 700 numbered collector's copies, the Special Limited Edition of Inferno sold out in a very short time. Copies of the standard edition are still available.
TOKENS UPGRADE
An exclusive set of six three-dimensional tokens depicting Dante, Virgil, the She-wolf, the Lion, the Leopard and, finally, Paolo and Francesca.
DANTE RETURNS TO FLORENCE
In the heart of Florence, in Tuscany, at the Bookshop of Palazzo Vecchio, Inferno and Purgatorio are available for purchase thanks to the support of MUS.E. The Supreme Poet returns from Ravenna to his beloved city with this symbolic act that recognizes the value of these playful works, finding a home in the very place where culture is the protagonist through History.
The Special Limited Edition of Inferno is sold out. Only a few copies of the standard edition are available. Purgatorio is available. Paradiso is in production.
